About Marian
Hello! I’m Rev. Dr. Marian Edmonds-Allen.
I serve as the Executive Director of Parity, a nonprofit based in New York City that works internationally to heal faith and identity divides. I’m also a Research and Teaching Associate at the Neurospirituality Lab at Harvard Medical School, where I explore the human-centered, ethical uses of AI and technology, religious liberty, and values-based collaboration to bring people together and foster genuine understanding.
My educational journey includes attending Western Theological Seminary and Eden Theological Seminary, where I developed a deep commitment to bridging faith and identity divides through compassionate engagement and collaborative problem-solving. This academic foundation, combined with years of experience in pastoral ministry, has profoundly shaped my approach to fostering dialogue and healing.
I’ve spent years working to connect people with their unique strengths and gifts, guiding them to use those gifts to make a difference in the world. Whether through speaking, teaching, consulting, or writing, my goal is to help individuals and groups align their actions with their core values to create peace, compassion, and inclusion in their communities and beyond.
I’ve served in various pastoral roles, including church planting, parish ministry, and chaplaincy, and have held leadership positions such as Executive Director of OUTreach Resource Centers, National Program Director of the Family Acceptance Project, Executive Director of the Utah Pride Center, and Justice Ministry Supervisor at Auburn Seminary.
My work has been recognized with honors like Person of the Year by Q Salt Lake for visionary leadership and the Petra Fellowship for my work with homeless youth.
Outside of my work, I’m a passionate skier, outdoor enthusiast, and most of all, a devoted spouse and parent.
I believe everyone has gifts to share, and that by connecting with our deepest values and strengths, we can create a kinder, more peaceful, and more flourishing world. If you’re curious about my work or interested in collaborating, I’d love to connect and explore what we can create together.
